PLEASE PRAY: For Safety & Good Weather
We now thank Heavenly Father for the Good Weather
we had. The Rain on Saturday helped us appreciate
the good weather the rest of the time.
PLEASE BRING: WOOD FOR CAMPFIRES
Thanks for all of you who brought wood and
came to the campfire sing-a-longs. It was fun
to be able to have a campfire each night.
I loved the stories and memories you shared.
It was nice to have enough wood.
We even had a lot left over.
Float Tubes, rafts, life jackets (if you want to try the San Rafael River)
We didn't realize that at this time of year there is no running water in the San Rafael.
Walkie Talkies(Batteries): Channel 11 code 21 (Parents ONLY Channel)
This worked well for our family. If at least one person in Each family was
assigned to keep a walkie talkie on, then we could alert them when we need
to change the schedule because of rain OR bring the eggs to be hidden, etc.
Horse Shoes & other outdoor games
Sorry the weather didn't cooperate so that we had more time to play games on Saturday. The ones we played seemed to be fun... we just didn't have enough break in the weather to play very long. For those of you who
played the games, which was your favorite?
Indoor table games – (just in case)
We played Nertz, Jenga, scrabble, etc. during the cold weather. What games did your family play?
GRANDMOTHERS: PLEASE BRING 6 EASTER EGGS STUFFED WITH TREATS FOR EACH OF YOUR GRANCHILDREN. $$$ TO GIVE THEM
IF THEY FIND EGGS WITH $$$ ON THEM.
I think we may have left a lot of the Easter eggs out there. If you are driving by and want to search, it might be fun to see if we can find any
that are still hiding.
MOTHERS: PLEASE BRING PRIZES enough for the Children in your FAMILY - AGES 0-17 for games on Saturday. Everyone who participates gets a prize. We had lots of prizes left over... We could have had a lot more
participation.... If we can start the EEHunt at 10:00 next year, we could play games until lunch time and then everyone could do their own thing in the afternoon. (depending on the weather)
Mothers: Bring treats for CAMPFIRES (Thurs. Christmas treat, Fri, Sat, Sun. campfire treats) smores seemed to win out as the most popular!!!
HYMN BOOKS IF YOU ARE STAYING FOR SUNDAY EVENING
PLEASE BE PREPARED TO:
Share your favorite “Christmas” memory or POEM & Christmas song -
Thursday night
Share a favorite “Easter” memory or Poem & Camp Song Friday night
Share a favorite memory, story or poem from your “Heritage” - Saturday

We will have a BULLETIN BOARD to post messages &

DID YOU ALL GO AND SEE THE COLD WATER
GYSER THAT WAS SOUTH EAST OF GREEN RIVER?
It was pretty amazing with beautiful mineral
covered terraces that cascaded down to the
Green River. When the water bubbled up and
spilled over the terraces it was really beautiful.
We didn't ever see it shoot up, but what we saw
was amazing.
WHERE DID YOU GO AND WHAT DID YOU SEE THAT YOU LIKED?
Will and his family went down to Dead Horse
Point and down to Canyon Lands overlook.
Then they drove down into canyonlands by the River,
and back to Moab via the potash road.
I guess it was spectacular. Please post any
pictures you took... Especially for those who
were unable to attend this year.

We found a spot!

INFORMATION FOR EASTER 2009
Hi Everyone. Change, change, change. Easter plans have changed again, I guess. Will and Cameron Durrant went looking, and found a place they think would be okay - - - It is just one mile north on the dirt road at exit 149 on I-70. The road is called CR 1029 or the Four Corners Mine Road (on MapQuest) (South from the exit 149 is SR24 to Hanksville)
Maybe this area is not as great as Little Egypt, but it does have several pluses
It is closer to Motels (Only 10 miles from Green River)
It appears not to be as far to travel for everyone
It has sand, rocks to climb, dinosaur bones, plenty of room, trails for 4-wheelers (no signs telling you not to ride)
It is near Black Dragon Canyon (for rappelling?) and the San Rafael River (tubbing, kayaking, if there is enough water) , and within driving distance of Goblin Valley (25 miles) Temple Mountain (20 miles) Horseshoe Canyon (about 50 miles) Swasey’s Cabin & the Buckhorn draw road (45 miles)
As for Motels, we have them reserved at the Robber’s Roost Motel in Green River (325 W Main) Will had stopped and looked at the motel and said it was completely non-smoking. The rooms are small, but they only cost $45. I have them reserved for Joan, Clyde& Alice, Enid, plus my familly. If you would rather have a nicer motel (more expensive) the Roadway West Winds is nice, and the rates are $60 plus tax. Also available is the Best Western River Terrace, Super 8, Comfort Inn, Holiday Express, (they are all on the east side of Green River) Motel 6 is also on the east side, and there rates start at $45. So, if you want to change, please let me know - - you can make your own reservations and I can cancel.
Sorry about the change!!! - - - I hope I don't live long enough to have another turn (7 years) Love MaryDean
